An great book for the Administrator-to-be; it's a keeper!
Teaching has always been a tuff profession and when you add a poor principal to the mix, the job can be almost unbearable. Glickman, et al have presented the clinical supervision model in a very earthy, hands-on manner. The examples are true to life and the chapter questions are thought provoking and right on the money. This is one book you will keep when your program is done and I'm sure you will come back to it over and over.

Not as good as advertised
This book gives some insight about what a principal (or administrator) should do, but it lacks the realism that one faces in the actual practice. There are many theories and ideas, but some are just not practical. While it is good for training purposes, I would not recommend an administrator to try to do all of these practices.Additionally, the writing is rather stilted in some parts and the diagrams are often not helpful. Some of the figures are difficult to grasp and some are VERY dated. The research is also dated in some portions of the book. I would have liked to see the new edition have more updated research based information.Overall, the book is okay, but it is lacking in some areas.
